Keep goal in sight

Just like when you're trying to lose weight you need to keep a picture of how you want to look on your refrigerator (or at least in your head), the same holds true for working towards any difficult goal. When you're attempting an accelerated course load at the University of Maryland University College, you will find yourself feeling overwhelmed sometimes and maybe during some particularly difficult week even ready to give up. By keeping your goal close enough to reach out and touch, it makes the tough times a million times easier to handle.

Here are my suggestions for how to keep your goal in sight:

  • Order your diploma frame and hang it, empty, on the wall. (http://www.herffjones.com)
  • Order your class ring (once you know for sure the year you'll be graduating) and wear it every single day.
  • Visualize every day walking in commencement and receiving your degree.
  • Feel the feelings of pride and accomplishment, NOW, as you'll feel them then. Really sit back and imagine how it will feel when everyone is cheering as your name is called up on that stage!
